Souika — Privacy Policy

Souika (سويقة, “little market”) is a marketplace app for Morocco that lets you post and browse classified listings. This policy explains what data we collect, why, who we share it with, and the choices you have. By using Souika you agree to this policy.

1. Data we collect

We do not collect payment card data — Souika does not process payments in-app.

2. How we use your data

Operate core features: accounts, listings, search, messaging, profiles.
Generate suggested listing descriptions from the photos you upload, using AI (see “AI features” below). You can always edit or replace the suggestion.
Send one-time sign-in codes and sign-in links by SMS and email.
Moderate listings (our team reviews submissions before they appear publicly).
Protect against spam, fraud, and abuse, and enforce rate limits.

3. AI features

When you add photos to a listing, those photos and the hints you provide (title, category, price) are sent to our AI provider (OpenAI) to generate a draft description in Arabic, French, and English. Images are processed to produce the description; you are not required to use the AI suggestion.

4. Who we share data with

We do not sell your personal data. We share limited data with service providers who process it on our behalf:

Other users see the public content of your listings (photos, text, city, and — if you opted in — your phone number) and any messages you send them.

5. Data location & retention

Listing and profile images are stored in the European Union (Google Cloud, Madrid region). We keep your data while your account is active. When you delete your account or a listing, the associated data is removed within a reasonable period, except where we must retain it for legal, security, or fraud-prevention reasons.

6. Your rights & choices

Access, correct, or delete your personal data.
Delete individual listings or your entire account from within the app.
Decline location sharing — precise GPS is always optional.
Control whether your phone number is shown to buyers.
Request a copy of your data by emailing us.

7. Children

Souika is not intended for children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect data from children.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, by an in-app notice.
